I’d say this is the best carving toolset I’ve tried out. The FlexCut is an 11 piece craft carver set with 10 with manual interchangeable carving blades. It is a relief carving tool with sharp gouges that doesn’t need a mallet and could successfully be used for whittling.
This set consists of gouges, V-tools, and chisels, each of which is equipped with a sturdy, curved ash wood handle designed for hand control, durability and comfort.
It also comes with an easy to read manual. This manual includes directions for carving project and sharpening tools with the attached leather strap.
It is sometimes difficult to get the blades in and out of the package without sliding one’s finger a little too close to the blades. You will need a kind of hand protection when removing from the pack.
The FlexCut 107 is very good if you can be careful with the way you open your tools. For someone who’s used to a sharp object, it would be easy, but for careless ones like me, you might have to bruise yourself before you know how to use this. But I still wouldn’t call this a con as there is a way to prevent it. First is you use a tape around your fingers. This would prevent the blades from cutting through (though some toolset have this attached)
Another alternative is to use a glove when unloading the package. It’s a plausible alternative. Just try it out.
